Shake vigorously, then use litmus paper to test the resulting solution. Divide the mixture into three equal parts. I Add NaOH(aq) in drops to the first section, then in excess. (ii) Add NH3(aq) in drops to the second component, then in excess. (iii) Add AgNO3(aq) and HCI(aq) to the third portion (b) I In a test tube, combine all of D and around 5cm3 pure water. Shake the test tube vigorously and feel it. (ii) Add HCI to about 2cm3 of the solution (aq).

Describe the results of each of the following reactions in the laboratory: (a) mixing 2cm3 of bench H2SO4(aq) with 2cm3 of barium chloride solution; (b) mixing 2cm3 of dilute hydrochloric acid with 1 g of powered iron(II) sulphide (FeS); (c) mixing 2cm3 of dilute hydrochloric acid with 1 g of iron filings and allowing to stand for a

The mass of NaNO3 created is equal to the molar mass multiplied by the number of moles, which is 85*0.0242 = 2.05 grams.

OBSERVATION: Sample C was engulfed in flames.

It has a non-smoky blue flame that produces no soot. There is a colorless gas present that turns wet blue litmus paper faint crimson and goes milky like water.

INFERENCE: C is combustible and volatile. CO2 is produced by the burning of a saturated organic molecule.

IMPLICATION: C is a reducing agent.

4. In all cases, more materials may be issued if required. 
5. The actual concentrations of A and B must be stated on the
Supervisor's Report Form. The candidates will assume that the
concentrations are exactly as stated in the question paper 
6. It should be noted that schools are not allowed to amend the
information provided on the question paper or substituto any substance/solution for those specified in these instructions

ASRANGEMENT AND SERIAL NUMBERS OF CANDIDATES 

7. The laboratory places should be numbered serially and the candidates
should be allotted these places strictly in the order of the index numbers. The number of every specimen supplied to each candidate
should be the same as his or her serial number & Ifa candidate is absent, his or her serial number should not be allotted
to another candidate

9. If the candidates are divided into a number of sets the serial numbers
should be continued through the sets, so that serial number is repeated.

10. At the beginning of the examination, it should be ensured that the candidates record their serial number as well as the index sumber
